We officially made it into Washington D.C. or should I say Virginia where our hotel is. We got all checked in and head straight downtown on an hour long bus ride...yuck!! We had only a few hours to try and fit everything there is to see in Washington D.C. so we walked over to the National Mall which is a long park with museums lining both sides, the Washington Monument on one end and the capital on the other. We started with the capital.....
and then made our way to the Supreme Court.....Kagen you suck!!! Department of Justice....Holder you suck!!! Treasury....Githner you suck!!! (those are all Max's comments as we walked by). At this point we stopped for some dinner at an authentic Mexican Restaurant, Oyamel, which consisted of very tiny portions of food such as Gaspacho, black bean soup, braised beef, pig tongue tacos and the most amazing quacamole made at tableside. ![]() |
As we filled our stomachs up we realized we only had an hour until the bus picked up its last ride. We booked it out of there as we were still wanting to make it to the Lincoln Memorial, White House, and the Washington Memorial. Max had us walking so fast I thought I was going to throw up, and let's not forget it felt like it was 100 degrees there (even at night) with so much humidity.
Even with our 50 mph walking speed we ended the night only seeing the White House and Washington Monument, we will just have to save the Lincoln Memorial for next time.

| Max wearing his Chuck Taylor's ( he wants to be like Glenn Beck). Everywhere we went he sang a song like this.."Just standing at the Washington Memorial wearing my Chuck Taylaaas!" |

| White House, the flag is up must mean the Presidents home!!! |
We made it back to the hotel, but were definitely beat, who knew you could almost see the best of D.C. in a 2 hour period (I don't suggest you attempt this). Got some needed sleep and now preparing to head to the airport and off to Greece....wooo hoooo!!!!!
